Namibia will always be home…

The red dunes

Namibia is an extraordinary place to live in and an excellent country for visitors who are interested in a wildlife and wilderness experience. I am so fortunate to be a Namibian and I have to say that I’m proud of my country. I grew up with the beautiful deserts, dunes, dense bush and open plains, mountains, canyons, and game around me. It’s an absolute beautiful place. Namibia will always be home to me.

The weather in Namibia is incredible, and can be quite strange.  The coast is pleasant and rain free for most of the year, but at times can be veiled in a thick fog. I love the rainy seasons though because it rains during summer and it is nice and warm. It just wants you to dance in the rain.  Huge raindrops hit the Namibian ground and a fresh smell lifts from the plains – it is best smell ever.

Namibia isn’t like any other country. Trust me – there is always something that pulls to go back. After 4 years of studying in South Africa, Cape Town, I still want to go back to my homeland. Cape Town is a beautiful place, but not my home. The people in Namibia are also very much different from South Africans. They have kind hearts and personalities. We are a family and we are very welcoming to outsiders.

If anyone hasn’t yet experienced the Namibian life, then you surely have to put it on your bucket list. Namibia is a stunning place and easily adaptable if you feel like making it your new homeland.  I’m sure you will after a visit. It will always be my home.

Why I have conversations – with myself…

Conversations going on in my head …

I don’t think that anyone is crazy or mentally ill just because they have conversations with themselves. Everyone does it, even me and I don’t find myself crazy. Maybe other people will think I’m crazy, but they don’t usually realize that they too have conversations with themselves.

I find that I have conversations with myself in my head with other people. Usually I want to talk to a friend or someone and what I do is having these conversations with myself and imagines what I would say and what they would say back. I think by having these conversations, I’m trying to figure out things and how not to mess them up in real life. The conversation usually plays out much different from where I expected or wanted it to go because I know about what the other person would say. I do this everywhere – in the shower or bath, in the car, and before I go to sleep.

I can sometimes have the most incredible conversations with myself. I don’t know where I find the words to have the conversation, but I do. I like to tell stories and make up stories in my head. I also find that sometimes the conversations become personal that it makes me cry. When reality hits me, then I realize ‘oh my gosh, I just cried in my own conversation’. LOL!

Well, people need to talk to people but I don’t think there is anything wrong with having conversations with yourself. I’m not too worried about it, in fact, I actually think in a weird, writer sort of way, it healthy. Enjoy it while you can.

Love doesn’t need to be perfect; it just needs to be true

I want my love to be true

Love doesn’t need to be perfect; it just needs to be true. But if your love is true, then it’s already perfect. When you find true love or the one that is meant for you… then you always think about how perfect everything is and will be. But love really doesn’t need to be that perfect. Nothing is perfect, not even you but trueness is what counts.

When you find true love, that’s when you find your best friend – your soul mate, your smile, your laugh, and you’re everything. Your true love is the one who will pick you up in good and bad times. The one that is always on your side and that wipes away your tears when you sad or even happy.

When you have love and it’s true, then it’s PERFECT! Because it bonds together two people who are imperfect. When the two people bond together, then their lives are ultimately planned around one another’s. True love means that it should be TRUE and one can only make it true when both parties are involved in each other’s life.

Love has a lot of things that it needs to be, but perfect isn’t one of them, because nobody will ever go through life without making a mistake. It just needs to be true enough so that it will conquer the mistakes, so that it will outlast the bad times, and so that it will be exceedingly joyous in the good times. I have been in love many times, but certainly haven’t found TRUE love yet. I hope that my ‘best friend’ is on his way to bump into me … I can’t wait to find love and know it is true… a little bit of perfectness in my life!

Be Thankful…

Are you really thankful for what you have? Sometimes we forget to be thankful for the things that we have. Here are a few things… to be really thankful for…

  1. To be alive – For being here on earth for a purpose and to live your life to the fullest
  2. To be healthy – For enabling you to do what you want to do and for what you’re about to do in the future
  3. Friends and family – For being your closest kin in the world and for being your companions in life
  4. To have lungs – For letting you breathe so you can live
  5. For your mind – For the ability to think, to store memories, and to create new solutions
  6. For the sun that rises everyday – For bringing in light and beauty to this world
  7. For your job and to earn a salary – For giving you a source of living and for being a medium where you can add value to the world
  8. To have happiness – For you to soak in the beauty of life
  9. For your house – For a place you can call home
  10.  For life – For giving you the chance to experience all that you’re experiencing, and will be experiencing in time to come

There is always, always, always something to be thankful for… Remember these words. So, when you live a happy life – it is always good to take a few minutes of your busy life to be thankful.

My big fat BIG dream…

A dream that will come true soon!

I’m sure that everyone has at least one dream, and it would be great if everyone had at least one impossible dream. You might have the dream that you know would love to come true but you have no idea how it would happen. It’s good to have impossible dreams because it forces you to THINK BIG. It also allows you to take inventory of where you THINK your limits are.

My big fat BIG dream is to have a fabulous healthy, fit and shaped body. Now this dream is quite a challenge and not that easy to achieve at times. I try to eat right and I gym quite often – sometimes 5 days a weeks. But when that ice-cream or chocolates calls you, then it’s over… I love my sweets and snacks but guess I need to start controlling that. I don’t want to have a model’s body, but would like to be healthy, fit and nicely shaped.

I want to strive to be tighter, stronger, fitter and leaner but I haven’t yet dedicated myself to do the extra effort to achieve in having that fabulous body. I guess my big fat BIG dream is never really BIG or FAT as I truly believe that there is no reason for looking like that. Well, I’m not fat at all – just to make that clear. LOL! I would just like to be tighter as said before. I love food, but food is supposed to be there to sustain our bodies and provide us with the necessary energy your body requires. I just need to focus really hard… and I will be able to achieve my dream in just 3 months.

I also think that motivation is important and to have a friend or someone with a similar dream… and both of you can work together. I go to gym with a friend and she motivates me a lot. The first few months or stages are always the hardest and you need that someone to keep motivating you – otherwise you will fail. My big fat BIG dream is to have a healthy lifestyle, be fit and also be proud of my body. I don’t want to hide it under layers of clothes but rather be confident on the beach with a bikini. Slowly but surely I am making that dream a reality …

To be confident enough on the beach with a bikini…

Passion can bring happiness

Find a passion and be happy…

Happiness can come from different things, but the one thing inspires me to bring happiness is PASSION. I’ve become very convinced that one of the greatest supports to a person’s happiness is passion. However, the question remains: ‘What is your passion?’

You find that some passions are better than others – where they can help other people, or they’re of a higher nature, or they’re more healthy or wholesome. Well, maybe yes, but any passion is a great boon to happiness.

“A passion gives you a reason to keep learning and to work toward mastery. It can often give you a reason to travel, and therefore to have the new experiences which is a key to happiness. It gives you something in common with other people, and so fosters social bonds. It gives you purpose. It often has a satisfying physical aspect too.”

Your passion can be anything, but it gives meaningful structure to your time and even makes the world a richer place. It can be a huge struggle to identify and pursue your passions – the real passions, not the passions you wish you had.

Maybe food is a passion for you, because you like it so much and it makes you happy, or maybe music? What about dancing? Passion doesn’t just bring happiness to the person who enjoys that passion – it also brings a vicarious pleasure to onlookers. It is important to find a passion that makes you happy, and enjoy it.

Happiness is the goal smaller!
