Why I have conversations – with myself…

Conversations going on in my head …

I don’t think that anyone is crazy or mentally ill just because they have conversations with themselves. Everyone does it, even me and I don’t find myself crazy. Maybe other people will think I’m crazy, but they don’t usually realize that they too have conversations with themselves.

I find that I have conversations with myself in my head with other people. Usually I want to talk to a friend or someone and what I do is having these conversations with myself and imagines what I would say and what they would say back. I think by having these conversations, I’m trying to figure out things and how not to mess them up in real life. The conversation usually plays out much different from where I expected or wanted it to go because I know about what the other person would say. I do this everywhere – in the shower or bath, in the car, and before I go to sleep.

I can sometimes have the most incredible conversations with myself. I don’t know where I find the words to have the conversation, but I do. I like to tell stories and make up stories in my head. I also find that sometimes the conversations become personal that it makes me cry. When reality hits me, then I realize ‘oh my gosh, I just cried in my own conversation’. LOL!

Well, people need to talk to people but I don’t think there is anything wrong with having conversations with yourself. I’m not too worried about it, in fact, I actually think in a weird, writer sort of way, it healthy. Enjoy it while you can.

The word … Inspiration

Sometimes people just need a little bit of inspiration to brighten up their day or lives. We all need something to hold on or to motivate us. Once we have found that, we are inspired.

So what is inspiration?

“To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” – Tony Dorsett

Inspiration is something about finding something else that is inspiriting (e.g.: Ideas, hobbies, people, nature or pets). Having that inspiration breathed into you and then taking action on it. If you inspire someone to action whatever they wish, it will inspire you as well.

If you don’t have anything to inspire you, you should find that something. I mean, you can find inspiration anywhere. They say that the key is to keep your eyes open. Don’t try to walk away from things and opportunities… talk every action in life and fulfil it 100%. See everything around you as a possible source of inspiration. We are sometimes so busy thinking about other things that we miss beautiful sources of inspiration.

Inspiration can change the way you live, the way you see things or do things. Take the time to find that something that inspires you. Here are some of the things that inspire me.

Books (Real life stories)

Blogs (Fashion blogs)

Pets (My Best friend – my dog)

Nature (The quietness of hearing nothing)

Friends (My Friend that support and inspires me every step of my life)

Movies (Titanic, My sister’s keeper etc, love stories, true stories and much more)

Music (A feeling I cannot describe)

My dog is an inspiration - he never has a dull moment!

What is your inspiration?

Don’t stop looking for the things you believe inspires you. Also, if you have the difficulty in findings those things, then try everything until you found it.

My friend... always inspires me!

It is a poor idea to lie to yourself

Scratch out the lies, and be honest to yourself!

As human beings we lie. We lie to other people. We lie to our loves ones, husbands, friends and lovers. We even lie to ourselves. We are all a bunch of pathological liars.

In one of my previous posts I talked about the little voice in your head, telling you what to do and what to say. Well, it sometimes has the ability to tell you to tell lies. We usually tell lies because we do not have any other choice. Sometimes we are stuck in situations and the only thing that can save us is the lie.

It is not the little white lies we tell people like why we are late or why we didn’t pitch for the meeting. I’m talking about the huge lies we tell ourselves. The ones that have a huge effect and that can damage you as a person.

It is said that on an average day people say around 300 to 900 words to themselves. The little voice! Sometimes we tell ourselves things that are actually considered as lies. There are some lies which trick us into believing, by rationalising.

We tell lies like ‘I’m not good enough for someone, and therefore I will never find love’. ‘I will never succeed’ or ‘I’m not smart enough, I will never be able to get it done.’ These are lies we tell ourselves, because we can do things, be strong, be good enough etc.

We live with lies – ‘I simply don’t have the time to do this’. Yes, you have the time. There is always time. To lie to yourself can become a habit. A habit that might be difficult to shake off.

It is important to trust in yourself and be honest to yourself. I came across the following, which is so true:

“Stop lying to yourself that tomorrow will be different. It will be exactly like today unless you do something about it. To take action you need start by being honest with yourself. Our real achievements come from believing in our own values.”

It is a poor idea to lie to yourself. So, stop lying to yourself and change those habits!

Two people came out of a building into a story…

Two people came out of a building into a story...

Once upon a time…

Far, far away on the highlands of green lived two characters, namely Jack and Jill.

They lived in a tiny, ferocious and crumbed up building – ‘their house’. Never have they seen the outside world and never have they stepped a foot on the green grass. They were both feeling drained, all moody and depressed. They were very unhappy, very poor, and for times had been hard they had no friends and yet nothing left to eat…

All they had was these three little magical beans – too hard to eat, too less to fill the hunger. Jack and Jill decided to explore the green on their doorstep. They came out of a building into a story …

Jack and Jill dug a hole for they hoped that the three magical beans will fill the fields with a taste of corn. Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. They came running down the hill, eager to wet the beans. After waiting anxiously for something to happen, the beans started to grow up, reaching the sky.

There Jack and Jill watched as the beanstalk stretched up and up as far as they could see, into the sky. Curious as Jack and Jill was, shall they see to where it leads? They began climbing the beanstalk upwards. After a time their little house looked a mere speck below, but at last the stalk ended.

They found their selves on ground made from fluffy soul. Gazed into this new adventure they found a great castle a little way off. More surprised than ever, for Jack and Jill could not imagine how happy they will live in there.

But a hungry giant waits, for him to be defeated by Jack and Jill. “Fee, fi, fo, fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman; Be he alive, or be he dead, I’ll grind his bones to make my bread!” said the giant. Golden eggs will make poor Jack and Jill rich and a table filled with food will release their hunger.

Jack and Jill led the giant to the beanstalk. Down fell the giant with a terrible crash and that was the end of him. Jack and Jill went back into a building – ‘the castle’, and lived happy ever after.

The End.

Note: I would like to add to this poem or story of mine that this was written by me and only me. No copy and paste was done. I incorporated about two or three sentences from the actual story/stories.
